Aria Wedding in Prospect, CT | Erica & Ron
A WEDDING AT ARIA
As wedding photographers, Arturo and I love having front-row seats to one of the biggest days in each of our couples' lives, but we were especially thankful for that honor on Erica and Ron's lovely wedding day! Their day was truly a combination of two cultures and families coming together as one; celebrations like this are some of our favorites to photograph!
Erica’s infectious laughter filled our afternoon and evening! She had a beaming smile across her face all day, and it only grew bigger when she and Ron shared their first look. As we moved onto their romantic portraits, she would say to him, “Babe, you look so handsome! I can’t stop looking at you!” To see a couple so happy and so in love makes me incredibly thankful to have a sweet career like this one!
Ron and Erica’s wedding ceremony was filled with endless laughter, and was by far one of the funniest ones Arturo and I have ever photographed! As I was culling through their photos the day after their wedding, I couldn’t help but laugh and smile at so many of the moments from their entire celebration! I don’t normally get teary-eyed during the culling process at this point in my career as a wedding photographer, but I couldn’t help it as I was brought back to the romantic and heartfelt vows Ron and Erica wrote for each other.
We snuck the new Mr. & Mrs. away for a few minutes after their wedding ceremony to capture some wonderful fall foliage during golden hour. Erica was full of giggles would excitedly say to her new husband, “Ron, can you believe it?! It’s our wedding day! We’re MARRIED!!”
Ron and Erica’s wedding guests enjoyed a fantastic Hora dance, but I think Erica’s brother rocked that portion of the evening (just wait until you see him held above the crowd). The evening ended with an unforgettable fireworks show! Ron and Erica stood in the side garden watching the fireworks with their guests, cuddling up together and exchanging a kiss every so often. It was the first time Arturo and I had ever photographed fireworks at a wedding, and these turned out to be some of my favorite moments of the evening!
THE LOVE STORY
As it turns out, Erica and Ron both went to the same high school but graduated five years apart. Ron’s younger brother, Rey, is the same age as Erica, and they graduated together. Rey and Erica were good friends in high school, and after turning 21 the two of them went out more with Ron and his friends. For a few years, Erica and Ron spent time together while also hanging out within the same circle of friends. Erica and Ron shared a mutual attraction towards one another but didn't start dating until December 2014 when Ron was having a Christmas party.
He had asked Erica to go pick out a tree with him to for the party. On their way back to Ron’s, the tree fell off the car so of course, the two had a bit of trouble getting it to the house. They did eventually get it home, and finally kissed for the first time in front of the tree! After a few months of dating, Erica and Ron solidified their relationship that spring at his niece’s quinceañera. Just over three years later, Ron planned an epic proposal and asked Erica to marry him at a Yankee game last May!
Congratulations Erica and Ron! Arturo and I wish you many years ahead filled with plenty of love and laughter!
Erica’s bridesmaids were the best!
Erica was full of giggles during her first look with Ron!
During their portraits, Erica kept saying to Ron, “Babe, I can’t stop looking at you! You look so handsome!” Her beaming smile as she shared these words with her future husband was just the sweetest!
Look at those lovely ladies!
The new Mr. & Mrs!
How gorgeous are those fall colors?!
I love the grandness of the main ballroom at Aria! It provides a beautiful ambiance for a classic and elegant wedding!
In lieu of a traditional father-daughter dance, Erica and her dad sang a duet of Fleetwood Mac’s song, Landslide. I love when our couples plan something fun like this that reflects their interests and personalities!
