Hydrangea-Inspired Coastal Summer Wedding in Norwalk, CT | Lily & Ian
A SUMMER WEDDING AT SHORE & COUNTRY CLUB
There’s something undeniably enchanting about a classic Connecticut wedding infused with blue and white elements. Lily and Ian’s coastal summer wedding celebration took place at the Shore & Country Club, which is nestled along the shoreline of Norwalk, Connecticut. With beautiful views of the water and meticulously manicured grounds, their wedding celebration was truly one to remember! The charming ambiance of the venue effortlessly complemented the couple's vision, creating an atmosphere brimming with elegance and romance.
Arturo and I first spent time with Ian and Lily at their Central Park engagement session earlier this spring. These two make such a sweet pair, and we were so excited to photograph them again on their wedding day. The weather that afternoon was absolutely perfect, especially considering it was mid-August! There was zero humidity in the air, and the coastal breeze swirled past us as Lily and Ian met on the back lawn of Shore and Country Club for their first look.
The two were married in a nearby church among their family and friends. After exchanging their vows and rings, the bride and groom shared their first kiss as everyone clapped with excitement. Their smiles beamed as the new Mr. & Mrs. walked up the aisle together while their guests cheered around them!
Ian and Lily were celebrated endlessly that evening! Joy and laughter filled the room during the heartfelt toasts given by some of their closest loved ones. The dance floor was packed late into the night while surrounding the newlyweds with an immeasurable amount of excitement and love!
THE LOVE STORY
Ian and Lily first met during their sophomore year at Villanova University. Over the next two years, they would occasionally bump into each other on campus and at parties, since they had many mutual friends. Two years later, during their senior year, their paths began to cross even more frequently. They had flirted with each other here and there, and one evening after a party, Ian walked Lily home. It was then they shared their first kiss!
After that kiss, several dates followed, and they each knew they were falling in love with the other person. However, with graduation quickly approaching, they’d each already made plans to live in different cities after leaving Villanova. Lily and Ian decided they wanted to make their relationship work as she moved to Philadelphia to work on her Ph.D. and he started his new career in New York City.
When the pandemic hit, Lily’s grad school program became entirely remote, which meant that she and Ian could finally leave the days of their long-distance relationship behind. They signed a lease together on an apartment in New York City and began the next chapter of their lives together. Last September, Ian proposed to Lily, and after six years together, they’re finally married!
