A TIMELESS SUMMER WEDDING AT THE INN AT LONGSHORE
Jess and Mike’s timeless summer wedding celebration at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut was one for the books! Dreamy details, divine golden hour light, a sweet couple who we absolutely adore, plus so many other incredible elements made this day an unforgettable one. Arturo and I first spent time with Mike and Jess last summer during their engagement session, and we’d been looking forward to their wedding day ever since!
In the hours leading up to their first look, equal parts excitement and anticipation were radiating off both the bride and groom. When Jess and Mike finally met on Longshore’s back lawn overlooking the water, all the nerves melted away and were replaced with beaming smiles! After we finished the portraits, it was time to get these two married!
The warm summer sun beamed down on everyone as guests gathered to witness Mike and Jess’s wedding ceremony. The bride and groom gazed into each other’s eyes and soon exchanged their vows and rings. As the new Mr. & Mrs. shared their first kiss, loved ones clapped and cheered with joy and excitement!
Mother Nature gave us a beautiful golden hour that evening, allowing us to create some oh-so-romantic newlywed portraits for Jess and Mike. These two were up for anything after their ceremony (even hopping off of the stone wall onto the beach!), which made our photographer hearts sing. That evening, the bride and groom were celebrated all night long with heartfelt toasts, high-energy music, and a packed dance floor!
THE LOVE STORY
Soon after the world went into quarantine, Jess and Mike’s moms were busy playing matchmaker for their kids. Jess’s mom insisted that she and Mike would make the perfect pair. In June 2020, the two met for their first date at a local brewery in coastal Connecticut. They immediately hit it off, and their relationship blossomed into a beautiful love story!
That summer, Mike and Jess spent their time by the pool, driving along the beach, and date nights at their favorite restaurants. They soon began traveling together to explore new places and started their weekly tradition of going on Sunday morning breakfast dates at the beach near their home. Last April, they were vacationing in the Bahamas where Mike proposed to Jess! As Jess says, “Mothers really do know best.”
